⚾ Octavius Catto Youth Baseball League
The Octavius Catto Youth Baseball League is a co-ed, entry-level Philadelphia Phillies Nike Jr. RBI program that introduces children to baseball through neighborhood recreation centers. Designed for young people who may never have had the opportunity to play organized baseball, the league is led by Philadelphia Parks & Recreation staff who receive specialized training and ongoing support through PYSC and its partners.
Each spring, young athletes build fundamental baseball skills, confidence, teamwork, and lasting relationships with coaches and teammates. Beyond the season, participants are connected with opportunities offered by PYSC member organizations, helping create a pathway for continued participation in youth sports.

🎾 Philadelphia Parks & Recreation Red Ball Tennis Program
The Red Ball Tennis Program introduces children to tennis using the USTA’s nationally recognized Red Ball curriculum, which features lower-bouncing balls, smaller courts, and age-appropriate equipment that allows beginners to rally and enjoy the sport from their very first session.
Offered seasonally at Philadelphia Parks & Recreation centers, the program is led by Parks & Recreation staff who are trained by USTA Middle States coaches and supported by PYSC and community partners. The model creates an inviting first experience while connecting families to future tennis opportunities throughout Philadelphia.

Coming Fall 2026
One Philly Soccer Club
One Philly Soccer Club will expand access to youth soccer by bringing high-quality, entry-level programming to more than 20 Philadelphia Parks & Recreation centers beginning in Fall 2026. The program will combine the expertise of Philadelphia Parks & Recreation staff with coaches from PYSC member organizations to create a welcoming first experience for children in grades K–7.
Developed in partnership with Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association and Street Soccer USA Philadelphia, One Philly Soccer Club will provide young people with a clear pathway into organized soccer while strengthening neighborhood recreation centers as hubs for community sports.
